Vogue Paris ;)

27-29 September 2009

This morning we went to the church again to pray, takes pictures and  put the holly water into the holly bottle that we bought tomorrow. Many people not just put it, but they also drink and wash their face. Then we went to Grotto Massabielle. Grotto Massabielle is a cave where Virgin Mary reveal Herself in the presence of St.Berdanette for 18 times!!! Imagine! And after that we have lunch and we're going to Paris. :) :) :)
Actually i and my dad really wanna visit Nevers, where we can see the body of St.Bernadette burried in the glass case. Its remind me with Snow White. St Berdanette wasn't turning to ashes, her body is just still the same since she died. Its really cool, isn't it? ;)
And now we're going to Paris by train. 8 hours or so. the train was really nice and each person get 1 package of lunch. 1 big french bread, tuna salad with egg, chicken, and fruits. yummy! :d

Parissssssss, here we come!!!! :D :D :D
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arrived at Paris, France. ^^v

First we have breakfast(its really yummy, especially the croissant!!! :D) and after that we were visiting Grand Palais Pont ALexandre II and St. Magdalena. Grand Palais is an outstanding building where consist of  historic site, exhibition hall, museum and certainly Champs Ellysees Avenue. I love this place even i can't shop anything here. :P And to be honest, i prefer shops like Champ Ellysees than mall. Because its a kind of street where there are shops along the street. There are Burberry, Prada, and for sure LV. I know that LV's price here is much cheaper than in Indonesia, but it still extremely expensive for me. But the thing that made me wondering is many people queue for bought the bags. wew *shook* and also there re many ladies from other countries, but mostly were from indonesia. lols.
Its not surprising, because i know exactly that Indonesian is love shopping whenever, wherever. :P beside indonesian, i saw many of japanese teenager who bought the bags too, and each girl bought 2 or 3. its really surprising. >.<
but well, japanese currency is high, so no wonder.

I saw many interesting things there, but i only do window shopping. :P
After we finished, we're going to Place De La Concorde Square. Place De La Concorde is the place where Soekarno(the first president of Indonesia) had inspiration to build Monas Tower in Jakarta by saw Obelisk. I will explain a bit of Obelisk. Obelisk was given by Egyptian Government in the 19th century. This obelisk is decorated by hieroglyphics exalting the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II. Its arrived in Paris on 23 December 1833.

Beside Obelisk, there are 2 fountains in Place De La Concorde, which is now become the syombolize as fountains in Paris. They were design by Jacques Ignace Hittorff ( very complex name), he's a student of Neoclassical designer Charles Percier at the Ecole Des Beaux-Arts.

Adopt : Wikipedia
Both fountains had the same form: a stone basin; six figures of tritons or naiads holding fish spouting water; six seated allegorical figures, their feet on the prows of ships, supporting the pedestal, of the circular vasque; four statues of different forms of genius in arts or crafts supporting the upper inverted upper vasque; whose water shot up and then cascaded down to the lower vasque and then the basin.
The north fountain was devoted to the Rivers, with allegorical figures representing the Rhone and the Rhine the arts of the harvesting of flowers and fruits, harvesting and grape growing; and the geniuses of river navigation, industry, and agriculture.
The south fountain, closer to the Seine, represented the seas, with figures representing the Atlantic and the Mediterranean; harvesting coral; harvesting fish; collecting shellfish; collecting pearls; and the geniuses of astronomy, navigation and commerce.
We can takes pictures with the Eiffel as background from here. (Place De La Concorde). Even better to take pictures here, because if in another place the Eiffel not really visible or looks good.or if we are too near to the Eiffel, it will not looks good. So, Place De La Concorde is the most strategic place to take pictures. ;)
After we take tens of pictures, we're going up to the Eiffel Tower. Before that, we must buy the ticket first. The prices are diverse based on the ages, (group/family), and depends on how you wnat go upstair(by stairs or lift)=> a bit silly.
well,
1. lift entrace to 2nd floor: adults (8.20 euro), 12-14 years (6.60 euro), and for under 12 and disabled (4.10 euro)
2. lift entrace to top : A (13.40 ), 12-14 (11.80 ) and <12&D (9.30)
3. stair entrance to 2nd floor : A (4.70), 12-14 (3.70) and >12&D (3.20)

we're choose the number 1. :)
when we arrived there, it was so crowded, but anyway its not impede us to take pictues. :p i was so excited, but its a bit desolate coz dunno how i felt ugly at that time. :( :( we cant see down clearly because of the mist, and i was freezing. i just wear legging, dress and sweater. actually i wer my fav sweater. its kinda jacket with the white soft fur around the neck and around the wrist. ;)
Oh, just for information there is afine dining restaurant on the top of eiffel, and it can spin, so the background will change every minutes. ;) of course its rotate slowly, so it won't make you dizzy. :)

after we finished look around, we were visiting:
- Arc The Triomphe
Arc The Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It honours people who fought and died for French in the French revolutionary. Many bride and groom come here to take their prewedding pictures. I saw it once, and the bride was so pretty. Even i wonder if she wasn't freezing, coz she just wear gown, with nothing cover it. >.<
- Les Invalides
Its a combination of museum and monument, monument about military history of France. The building comprises a retirement house, hospital which is consist of medical and surgery centre.
 - Militaire Museum
- Petit Palais
is an ancient building which i like very much.Petit Palais is a fine art museum. Petit Palais is just one of many museums in Paris. Like we know, Paris have many of monuments and museums.Petit Palais was built for 1900 Universal exhibition, and it became museum in 1902.

And last, we went to Lafayette Department Store. The mall is big ( i can't say its huge because compare to Indonesia Lafayette isn't that big. :P indonesian may know many huge malls in indonesia, it seems that the government loves to build many of huge department store), Lafayette's design was fancy and luxurious. The stores there were similar with Champs Ellysees's. But ironically, in front of the fancy mall there was a chinese guy who sell many kind of souvenirs. mostly are key hangers, and u can bargain it. ;)

At night, some people were going to the Lido Cabaret Show. I and my family were not join because we didnt like a kind of show and also because we want to see Paris at night which is so incredible and the Cabaret was quite expensive for me. Each must pasy 100 euro for that show. huaaaaaa...>.<
Lido Cabaret Show is a kind of exotic shows where may people wears hundreds of costume and we can enjoy it while we're having lunch or dinner. Generally people enjoy the show during dinner time. The meal start at 19.30 and the show start at 21.30 or 23.30.

We're enjoying the Paris ambience at night and it was so fun and romantic.
I saw many couples here and there, they were kissing and didnt care to people sho stared at them. :P Paris isn't just a fashion city, but also romantic city. I like this city, very lively and delightful. The atmosphere is really supportive. You can see beautiful buildings everywhere and also the romantic restaurants and cafes everywhere, even bakery. they serve the most yummy croissant and many kinds of cakes, and the smell was really arouse my appetite. :p hihihi..
i think its really nice to spent your holiday here or your honeymoon. but i dont think so if i have to live here, coz Paris is one of the upper class city, and its a bit tough to live here. Its just my opinion. :)

but i really wanna go here next time!! for sure!! with my future husband or family. ^^
after we're enjoying the environtment, we decide going back to the hotel.

Reassuring Lourdes :)

26-27 September 2009

After satisfied eating breakfast, we're going to the Holy city, Lourdes. :) Lourdes is a small city, but if you look around there are friendly people everywhere, which is so cool! Along the street, we can see many stores that sell things like curtain, handycraft, foods, but many of them sell souvenirs or Catholic things, like Virgin Mary sculpture, rosary, and many other things. I bought a few rosary and also bottle for put the Holy Water. I bought for my friends. They would be like it! ;)
And there were many kinds of rosaries and with variation of prices. I looked Swaroski made which is so pretty. its like shimmering and sparkling. There are white, blue and pearl crystal. Personally i love the crystal. :P
My neighbour bought Virgin Mary Statue, and i really love it. She looks soo beautiful. ^^
After we take walk, at night we went to the church to attend the candle procession. There were so crowded there, like there were thousand of people from all around the world. they talk with different languages and i felt dizzy and amazed at the same time.
And when we pray "salam Maria" we speak with every different languages and i heard indonesian also. ^^
When i was walking, i see the very cute baby ever! i thought she just 8 months old.and she wears Hello Kitty suite!! Her dad told me that they come from Canada. ;)

After the candle procession was finished, we're taking pictures, then we were going back to the hotel.
I love the hotel's design. Its classic and fancy at the same time. Its like an england ancient castle's design. but the room wasnt that good. it looks ancient and a bit uncomfortable, but its clean, so thats fine. :)

personally i like this city. Lourdes can count to be one of my fav city in West Europe. ;)
